Regulations
We expect all our members to observe these conditions.
| 1. | This permit is only available to the party in whose favour it is issued and is not transferable. |
| 2. |
The fishing season shall run from 1st April to 30th September. No Sunday fishing on Tweed or Ettrick on Association Water – Sunday fishing is allowable on the Gala Water from Craigneuk just below Bowland down to its confluence with the Tweed at Gala Foot. |
| 3. | The permit holder must not kill any trout under 9 inches (23cm) in length or any smolts, parr or salmon or sea trout. |
| 4. | The permit holder will adhere to a bag limit of TWO trout per day per angler for the whole season. |
| 5. | The permit holder must adhere to the following
restrictions - no minnow fishing, spinning, ground baiting, float fishing,
fixed spool or multiplying reels. No bait fishing or nylon over 5lb
breaking strain from |
| 6. | The permit holder will close all gates they open, avoid damage to fences and other property, not disturb game or livestock, no dogs, no fires and no litter (take it home). Give way to salmon anglers at all times. |
| 7. | The permit holder shall undertake to fish with legal lures only and must also report all instances of illegal fishing and poaching to the Secretary or Watchers. Inspection by authorised persons of fish and tackle in his possession must be allowed at all times. |
| 8. | The permit holder must at all times, when asked to do so show this permit to the association Watchers or bailiffs. Any person refusing to do so may be turned off the river and the permit forfeited. |
| 9. | Any permit holder convicted of a breach of any relevant legislation or who takes any fish other than by recognised means (rod and line) or who the committee is satisfied has fished any reserved stretches shall cease to member and shall not be re-admitted for a year from the date of the offence. |
| 10. | Any permit holder infringing any of the foregoing rules shall forfeit his permit. Such forfeiture shall be notified in writing by the secretary of the Association to the permit holder at the address stated on the permit. |
| 11. | The association reserve the right to refuse membership to any person. |
| 12. | No fishing is permitted between the hours of 11.00pm and 9.00am from and including the Ettrick/Tweed meeting pool to the Garden Back Pool, North and South Banks. |
